David Vaux is an ex-London Firefighter who served for 15 years on fire rescue operations and as physical education officer until a career-ending injury.  He subsequently retrained as an Osteopath and entered the world of academia, successfully applying strength and movement to his own rehabilitation from long-term pain. David draws on his lived and clinical experience in his work as an Osteopath, having also provided injury prevention and conditioning advice within the performing arts and international sports. David is also Head of Therapy and Exercise for a leading UK arthritis charity. He is an authority on older age strength and resilience, regularly working on projects such as the HM Government Healthy Aging Challenge, and holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in Osteopathy and a further master’s degree in health and exercise science.

Additionally, David has two decades of experience, providing Osteopathic treatment and advice for pre & post-partum mums and their babies, and provides myth-busting exercise advice to teenagers. 

 

A regular contributor to mainstream press and podcasts on the subject of healthy ageing, David also provides expert training/mentorship for clinicians and fitness professionals in his approach - See Services page
